Robert Smouse

Robert Smouse is an EarthPeople sustainability consultant, helping clients in areas of environmental-based efficiencies, waste minimization and recycling program integration, benchmarking and sustainability reporting, sustainable design or LEED project assessments, and employee training campaigns.

Robert began his environmentally-focused career in 1991 when he spearheaded a campus-wide recycling program at Western Illinois University while completing his Bachelors of Business in Management. Over the past 16 years, Robert has developed an extensive environmental expertise through operational and marketing positions with Browning Ferris Industries and Abitibi Recycling.

As the Green Building Committee Chair for the City of Plano’s Sustainability & Environmental Services Department, Robert has demonstrated sustainability proficiencies and has built numerous collaborative partnerships with a variety of public and private organizations. Robert passed the USGBC LEED Accredited Professional Exam in 2006, is involved in multiple LEED projects (3 NC & 1 EB) and frequently presents at national conferences.
